Unblock-us is an easy-use system for gaining access to entertainment channels outside your home country. There are dozens of channels to explore, as well as listings for sports events and more.

Unblock-Us requires no installation for many devices, rather you sign in to change settings which are linked to your devices. For example, if you’re watching Netflix and wish to switch regions, you simply sign in, select Netflix, and change the region from a drop-down list. That’s it! So, this service is relatively simple to use and most VPN novices should be able to handle it.

Despite this, Unblock Us is still quite limited in terms of VPN features. It is for watching shows rather than downloading or chatting whilst incognito, and we weren’t that convinced by the service’s ability to keep your data safe because they don’t go into very much detail about their encryption methods, of whether you can even do much more than watch TV.

This service isn’t expensive, but we do think that you can find better value elsewhere. For a similar price, you’ll find websites which offer far more features. As such, if you’re looking to control incoming and outgoing information from your computer, we feel this isn’t the best site for you. Rather, if you’re looking for a simple system to switch regions and access entertainment from other regions, this could be an option.

The range of channels and the regular updates on which shows are playing, is fairly impressive. You can find a lot of major sports matches, or explore video on demand from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, HBO and more. 

We were impressed by the customer service from Unblock-us. Our queries were responded to very quickly. Online information could be improved, though, as it’s not always easy to find what you’re looking for. At least the support is there should you need it, but we’d like to see a better FAQ so we can find our answers to simple questions.

Whilst Unblock-Us.com might provide enough for real VPN novices who want to expand their entertainment roster, it probably won’t be fulfilling for more experienced internet users. Services are limited to TV really, and whilst this is somewhat flexible (since you can use it on mobile devices too), it’s in no way spectacular. Prices are low, and they offer a 7 day free trial, but for a few more dollars you can get a much more involved and in depth VPN service.
