OverPlay.net provides an easy-use piece of software, allowing you to change the region of your devices. Consequently, you can access restricted websites, including online television shows and more. Its JetSwitch system is a simple dashboard which lets users control a range of basic services with ease.

There are two packages to choose from Over Play. The first is SmartDNS, which essentially allows you to access restricted entertainment using a fast server. You can control your internet connection to view entertainment in other countries. It’s very simple to use, making it ideal for people who just want to expand their range of entertainment possibilities, but who aren’t very technologically minded.

The Global VPN package includes Smart DNS, but also allows you unrestricted, protected web browsing. By connecting you to a variety of servers around the world, the system hides your location and secures your private data.

Prices are slightly high for the services on offer. The Global VPN doesn’t offer as many controls as we’ve seen elsewhere and doesn’t offer servers in quite as many countries as the highest rated sites. Still, these services aren’t expensive, particularly if you take out a year-long contract. It would be useful if Overplay.net provided a free trial so potential customers could try out what’s on offer, but alas – they do not.

Probably the best thing about the services on offer is JetSwitch, which allows you to easily switch controls, including which region you appear to be browsing from. Then again, this simplicity isn’t going to appeal to everyone, particularly if you’ve some experience with proxy and VPN services and wish to have a bit more direct impact over what happens. 

The services lack features such as kill-switches, which would automatically shut down programs when their VPN fails, or auto-restarts for when the system crashed or stops without you wanting it to. An auto-restart would be particularly useful for watching shows because it would prevent you from having to connect manually each time something goes wrong. 

If you’re looking for a 1 year contract with a proxy service, primarily for entertainment purposes, Over Play might be a good choice. However, there are better value options around which will also provide superior VPN services and options. Another good reason to consider OverPlay, though, is if you’re looking for a simple interface which allows you to change region easily.
