Editor's Review:

Avast! Secureline VPN combines virtual networking with anti-virus and online security software. It’s available for PC, Mac, Android and iOS, allowing you to bypass websites’ geographic restrictions, browse more securely and hide your IP address from suspicious eyes. Whilst it might not offer all the tools and features you can find elsewhere, its free trial and generous packages offer great value for money.

First off, it’s worth saying that AvastSecureline doesn’t really have the widest array of features available. It’s easy to use, though, and that makes it suitable for people who are relatively new to using a VPN service. You can connect to the VPN with a single click, making sure you’re secure quickly and simply.

The real benefit of choosing Avast! Over other VPN services is that it includes the Avast Internet Security suite, which is worth a decent amount of money on its own. As well as that, you can access Secureline VPN on your PC or Mac, as well as your Android and iOS, all for one annual fee. The internet security offers substantial protection from viruses and various other harmful files which you might encounter as you use the internet, improving the protection level over all.

Avast Secureline VPN offers a 7 day free trial of its services, which is a great way to explore what’s on offer and to better understand if it will do everything you need. They also provide business options if you’re satisfied with the service and wish to use it across multiple machines. The VPN services make public wi-fi hotspots safer by encrypting your data and hiding your location, which is especially useful when combined with the protective barriers set up by the Avast! Internet security software. This will prove useful to holiday-goers and businesspeople alike, or even if you fancy checking your emails in a cafe or bar.

The list of servers is a little lacking when compared with other VPN websites, although they have a decent variety of locations, including the UK, USA, Japan and Russia. The speed of the service is also adequate and you shouldn’t encounter any troubles playing games or downloading large files.

As with other VPNs, avast.com makes sure that you can bypass restrictions placed on certain websites. For example, if you wish to watch TV shows being streamed on foreign sites (such as the BBC) then this is possible. Essentially, the VPN allows your computer to appear in another location, such as the UK or Japan, and any website which checks your IP will see that you appear in that location.

If you’re looking for a great level of control over your VPN and protocol options, AvastSecureLine probably isn’t ideal for you. However, if you want an easy-use VPN which includes superior anti-virus and internet security features, this is an option worth considering. They provide a 7 day free trial so you can get a sense of how it all works, so why not give it a spin?
