Kepard.com offers an easy-use system which allows you to quickly change your VPN connections and settings. This on-off system, combined with the ability to connect from two locations, allows you to easily switch between regions depending on the task at hand.
The Keypard application is a well designed nugget, providing a simple interface for changing settings online. You can check and adapt protocols, switching between OpenVPN TCP, OpenVPN UDP, PPTP and L2TP. If none of this means anything to you, don’t worry too much as it might not all be relevant. If you want to find out more, however, the site offers 24 hour support every day.
There are 4 main focuses of Kepard: online security, internet freedom, internet privacy and encryption. They provide a secure connection which is designed to stop your information from being accessed by undesirable sources. This is achieved primarily through their encryption, which uses well implemented safety protocols. You can also switch between servers, which keeps your identity secure, though this is primarily done manually as you choose to move between servers.
Accessing restricted sites seems to be a main motivating force behind the creation of Kepard.com, primarily because it hands control over to you when it comes to deciding which servers to use. You can also easily disconnect or reconnect to them, whilst also changing your VPN configuration settings on a whim. Rather than constantly bouncing your IP address between different countries, you can connect virtually (in both senses of the word) in one place so that you can access sites such as regional entertainment channels which might otherwise block your viewing.
Thankfully, the website contains a VPN setup page. This allows you to configure your service for whichever operating system you’re using. They cater for Windows, Linux and Mac OS, as well as android and iOS, so you can use Kepard on a number of devices. Instructions are clear and well explained, although they might benefit from a video or two to guide you through the process.
The blog is pretty vacant, with the most recent update being December 2014 when we wrote this review. Still, it’s worth checking now and then because you can get money off codes. Members can also earn free premium membership by encouraging their friends to join, which is a nice incentive. Otherwise, prices are quite reasonable at under $40 for a year. Not half bad!
Kepard offers a fair service for a fair price. Its user-interface allows you to control where and when you connect to a server, whilst opening up restricted sites online. You can also cover your tracks, and whilst this isn’t quite as in depth as we’ve seen elsewhere, it should cater for most needs.
